'A Warm Welcome: Immigrant Inclusion in Divisive Times' at Washington University in St. Louis

This event will bring together academics and practitioners to discuss efforts to promote the inclusion of immigrants in St. Louis and across the country. Expert panelists, including those from the fields of sociology, law, and journalism, will share their perspectives and field questions from the moderator and the audience. 

Panelists:

• Professor Katie Herbert Meyer, professor of practice and director of the Immigration Law Clinic, Washington University in St. Louis School of Law
• Professor Dina Okamoto, Herman B. Wells professor in the Department of Sociology at Indiana University
• Gilberto Pinela, director of the Office for New Americans in the St. Louis mayor's office.
• Valerie Plesch, Pulitzer Center grantee and freelance Vietnamese-Argentine American photojournalist, documentary photographer, and writer.

Moderator: Ariela Schachter, associate director of the Weidenbaum Center and associate professor of sociology, Washington University in St. Louis  

The event will run 12:00-12:45pm, immediately followed by a reception with light refreshments.
