Please join us on Thursday, March 30, 2023, at 5:30pm EDT for the opening of the Seventh Annual Everyday DC Photography Exhibition at the Charles Sumner School Museum and Archives. This event is free, but RSVP is appreciated. Click here to RSVP.
The Everyday DC photo exhibition presents a visual narrative of Washington, D.C., through the eyes of over 100 D.C. students from public middle schools in all four quadrants of the city. This exhibition is the culmination of a photojournalism Cornerstone unit designed by the Pulitzer Center and DC Public Schools Arts and taught by DC Public Schools visual arts teachers.
Inspired by the Center-supported Everyday Africa project, Everyday DC challenges students to analyze how Washington, D.C., is portrayed in the media, and how they can compose images that more accurately visualize their everyday experiences.
This project is made possible by the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities, an agency supported by the National Endowment for the Arts and the Charles Sumner School Museum and Archives.
