The Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting, in conjunction with the University of Virginia's University Program Council, Student Council, and Women's Center, presents Haiti: Reporting Beyond the Headlines. Pulitzer Center grantee Andre Lamberston will share his experience working as a photojournalist in Haiti after the earthquake. Over the course of a year, Lambertson made repeated trips to Haiti to tell the stories of ordinary Haitians working to rebuild their lives and communities while coping with issues ranging from HIV/AIDS to their children's welfare. Lambertson is an award-winning photojournalist, teacher and filmmaker who is committed to documenting stories of hope, healing, and transformation. Among other recent works, Lambertson is currently shooting a documentary called "The Whole Gritty City" about marching bands that help stem street violence among youth in New Orleans.
