As part of his visit to Davidson College in North Carolina, award-winning illustrator George Butler will explore his latest work, Ukraine: Remember Also Me, and his reporting on the ongoing war in Ukraine that underpins his collection of powerful testimonies and intimate illustrations.
He’ll be in conversation with Davidson graduate Lauren Van Metre, director of Peace, Climate, and Democratic Resilience at the National Democratic Institute. Van Metre has extensive experience in conflict resolution and prevention.
The Pulitzer Center supported Butler’s reporting from Ukraine featured in the Virginia Quarterly Review and honored by the American Society of Magazine Editors. Davidson is a Pulitzer Center Campus Consortium partner.
The conversation will be moderated by Jane Mangan, the John and Ruth McGee director of the Dean Rusk International Studies Program at Davidson.
This event is free and open to the public. Join Butler for a book signing in the Davidson Chambers Building's first-floor lobby after the lecture.
This event is co-sponsored by the Pulitzer Center and the Dean Rusk International Studies Program.
