Rainforest Investigations Network Call for Proposals

The Pulitzer Center's Rainforest Investigations Network (RIN) is accepting applications for its next cohort of investigative environmental journalists.

Fellows will spend one year focusing on projects that tackle the intersection of climate change, corruption, and governance in the world’s three main tropical rainforest regions: Amazon, Congo Basin, and Southeast Asia.

Fellows will receive

  • Salaries commensurate with experience
  • Coverage of reporting expenses such as travel and consultants
  • Data and research training
  • Support on communication and engagement
  • A close mentoring relationship with the Pulitzer Center

The selected RIN Fellows will work closely with their co-Fellows around the world, benefiting from one another’s skills and diverse perspectives.

Ask Me Anything sessions

We are organizing five virtual meetings where editors and RIN members will discuss the details of the current call for proposals, which is open until May 22, 2026.

During these events, participants can ask about the requirements to submit an application, what type of investigations the jury values, and what other elements are taken into account during the selection of RIN Fellows. Former Fellows will also discuss their experiences.
