Arvind Shukla

Arvind Shukla is a freelance journalist and founder of News Potli, a website that tells the stories of farmers, women, and tribal people.

Based in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, he grew up in a farming community and has spent years documenting the impact of climate threats, such as droughts, floods, and water shortages, on farmers and their livelihoods.

He has previously written about the plight of sugar workers, including a story focusing on how mills in Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra owe sugarcane cutters billions in outstanding payments.
