A Wall that Divides Americans
Tomas van Houtryve
Many experts say President Trump’s plan for a wall along the U.S.-Mexico would do little to stem illegal immigration. Mexico won’t pay for it, and Congress has yet to fund it, but “The Wall” has already succeeded in dividing Americans against each other. In this project for Time magazine, grantee Tomas van Houtryve uses drone photography to offer a different perspective on life along the border.
The Pulitzer Center hosted more than 300 journalists, activists and policymakers at a two-day "Beyond War" conference last weekend. Check highlights of panel discussions and workshops here.
