Folha de S.Paulo hosted a seminar titled "Maternal Mortality in Brazil" on August 20 in partnership with the Pulitzer Center. The event brought together healthcare professionals, researchers, and a representative from the federal government. The speakers examined data highlighting Black women as the primary victims of racial inequality in Brazil and emphasized the importance of equitable access to legal abortion services in the country. Among the participants were two authors of studies that underscore Black skin color as a key factor in this public health issue in Brazil. Below, you can find a summary of the panels and a video recording of the live broadcast in Portuguese.
