Lack of education, insulin and essential supplies is of grave concern for youth with Type 1 diabetics (T1D) in Costa Rica—and testing for the disease remains inadequate. This project addresses the challenges Type 1 diabetic children, especially those living in rural areas, face each and every day. How do they test for the disease? How do they manage it? How does their experience differ from the treatment of those living in city areas?
