Tania Ortiz

Tania Ortiz is a magazine journalism graduate student at Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. She is a Newhouse Graduate Minority Newspaper Fellow. Ortiz has bylines in the Syracuse.com/The Post-Standard, where she covers arts and culture, and in The South Side Stand, interviewing community leaders and producing bilingual content.
Before attending Syracuse University, Ortiz studied communication at California State University at San Marcos, where she contributed to her campus’ independent student newspaper The Cougar Chronicle as the opinion editor, and eventually editor-in-chief.
