Philip Brasher is Washington, D.C., correspondent for The Des Moines (Iowa) Register and specializes in coverage of food, agriculture, energy and climate policy. He has been a lead writer on recent award-winning projects by the Register that have examined the impact of climate change on agriculture and the prospects for and impacts of biofuels. Prior to joining the Register in 2002, he was the national food and farm policy writer for The Associated Press, based in Washington. He is a member of the Society of Environmental Journalists and the North American Agricultural Journalists. He is a native of Texas.
