Kenneth R. Weiss spent the last decade writing about science, environment and public health for the Los Angeles Times. He won a Pulitzer Prize for Explanatory Reporting and many other awards for his work as the lead writer on a five-part series Altered Oceans. The LA Times recently published Ken’s latest series, Beyond 7 Billion, last year. He is currently working with the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting, writing a book on the topic.

In addition to a Pulitzer Prize, Weiss has won the George Polk Award, the Grantham Prize, the Scripps Howard Foundation’s National Journalism Award and many others. He holds a bachelor’s degree in folklore from UC Berkeley and lives in Carpinteria, California. He can contacted at
