Jill Lawless

Jill Lawless is the Associated Press’ chief correspondent for the United Kingdom. She has covered British politics for a decade that included five prime ministers, a Scottish independence vote, the seismic Brexit referendum, and the continuing aftershocks of the U.K.’s departure from the European Union.

She has covered the U.K. from the Shetland Islands in the north to Cornwall in the south. She has reported for the AP from 20 countries on four continents.

Lawless was an English-language editor of the UB Post in Ulaanbaatar during Mongolia’s transformation from communism to democracy. She  is the author of the book Wild East: Travels in the New Mongolia.
