Ikra Javed is a rising junior at Davidson College where she designed her own major, titled Economics & History, through the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies. She cares deeply about human rights, gender equality, environmentalism and social justice. Ikra has served as a Freedom Schools intern and Spanish language educator at a local elementary school. She currently interns with the nonprofit Safe Alliance that advocates for survivors of domestic and sexual violence. In fall 2015, she studied abroad in Peru and likes to speak Spanish in her free time.
