By the time she returned to Washington, D.C. from Mexico in mid-March 2020, Virginia Garino knew that things weren't going to be normal for a while. The novel coronavirus was spreading fast. Due to her recent travels, she decided to self-isolate for two weeks. This is how her life changed.

Garino is a recent graduate of American University's School of Communication, a Pulitzer Center Campus Consortium partner. She produced this video for Campus Consortium Advisory Council member Bill Gentile's course, Backpack Documentary en Español.
