Tanishka R.

Tanishka R. is a graduate student at the Missouri School of Journalism with a focus on photojournalism and visual editing. She is drawn to stories that show hope amidst adversity and focus on the themes of race, social inequity, and the environment.
Before pursuing journalism, she earned a master's degree in environmental sciences and has held internships and volunteer positions in environmental conservation.
Tanishka worked as a visuals editor and staff photojournalist at the Columbia Missourian, a local daily newspaper in Columbia, MO. In 2022, she was the multimedia intern at NPR's Science desk. She has also been a coordinator for Pictures of the Year International and College Photographer of the Year contests.
