Sara Avery
REPORTING FELLOW
Sara Avery is a rising junior Journalism major, Political Science minor and member of the Freddye T. Davy Honors College at Hampton University. During her tenure at Hampton, she has become involved in several curriculum-related experiences including active participation as a local and world writer for the Hampton Script campus newspaper, being a member of the National Association of Black Journalists, and contributing as a script writer and producer for WHOV—TV and Radio, the school's station. Sara is also passionate about her extracurricular participation as a violinist in the HU Chamber Orchestra and as a member of the Honda Campus All Star Challenge team. She is quite engaged and wired nationally through her pursuits as a photographer for HerCampus—an online publication for collegiate women. Sara's long-term professional goals consist of becoming either a civil rights attorney or investigative journalist, with her primary goal being to help as many people as possible.
