The Amazon rainforest is being used as a dirty money laundromat for organized crime. The crime groups, a few of whom have already been exposed in investigations by the Brazilian justice system, are the target of Hyury Potter’s Rainforest Investigations Network project.
Potter and Repórter Brasil investigate how, and with what political and international connections, these groups take advantage of the fragile regulation and inspection of economic activities that affect the environment in the Amazon.
