David Pierson

David Pierson is a foreign correspondent for the Los Angeles Times who is based in Singapore and covers Asia.
He first joined the newspaper in 2000 and worked primarily out of the San Fernando Valley and San Gabriel Valley offices before moving to the business staff in 2008.
He served as an economics reporter in Beijing from 2009 to 2013. He then returned to Los Angeles, where he covered agriculture and, later, technology.
Pierson moved to Singapore in 2018 and has written extensively about Southeast Asia and Hong Kong, his native city.
