Record-Breaking Canadian Wildfires—North America's New Normal?

Detroit Free Press reporter Keith Matheny and photographer Eric Seals traveled to multiple locations throughout Canada, areas ravaged by 2023's record-shattering wildfires, and places where provincial fire agencies and others are trying to get their communities better prepared for more frequent, more intense wildfires that burn larger areas.
