Afy Malungu

Afy Malungu is the Pulitzer Center's outreach coordinator for the Congo Basin. She has been working on environmental communication and journalism for more than 10 years in the region.

Malungu is the founder and editor of Africa Reveal, and a contributor and a former French editor of InfoCongo, an EJN geojournalism platform focused on the Congo Basin.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a graduate degree in organizations communications from the Institut Facultaire des Sciences de l’Information et de la Communication (IFASIC) in Kinshasa. She is studying for her master's degree in climate and media at the University of Paris-Saclay- University of Versailles-Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, based in France.

Malungu is passionate about making environmental information accessible to people so that they can enhance their livelihoods and protect Earth.
