Independent journalist Terry Greene Sterling is a three-time Arizona Virg Hill Journalist of the Year and editor at large for the Arizona Center for Investigative Reporting. She's covered the people, politics, and places of the borderlands and the American southwest for The Washington Post, The Guardian, The Atlantic, Slate, National Journal magazine, Newsweek, The Daily Beast, Arizona Center for Investigative Reporting, and other publications.

She authored Illegal, Life and Death in Arizona's Immigration War Zone and coauthored Driving While Brown: Sheriff Joe Arpaio Versus the Latino Resistance, a 2021 NPR "Books We Love" Best Books of 2021.
