Sarah Clune Hartman

Sarah Clune Hartman is an award-winning television producer with decades of industry experience, many of them spent at PBS NewsHour and the Under-Told Stories Project.

At NewsHour, Hartman produced hundreds of segments on single-day deadlines and supported long-term projects in a variety of roles. Her reporting spanned a myriad of subjects — from colleges dropping admissions testing requirements in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic to dental health in far-flung Toksook Bay, Alaska.

As a general assignment producer, she reported from Moscow, Berlin, and London. With the Under-Told Stories Project, she's produced stories on a wide range of subjects, from Rwanda, Uganda, Cambodia, India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.

She won a Peabody Award in 2019 for her work on the five-part PBS NewsHour series The Plastic Problem. She received the Walter Cronkite Award for political television coverage and was a media fellow at Harvard Medical School and the National Press Foundation Cancer Program.

The daughter of a Foreign Service Officer, she spent much of her childhood abroad, including in Peru and Indonesia. She’s a graduate of Boston College.
