Afy Malungu

CONGO BASIN PROGRAM MANAGER, INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION & OUTREACH

Afy Malungu is the Outreach Coordinator for the Congo Basin. She has been working on environmental communication and journalism for more than 10 years in the Congo Basin region. Afy is the founder and editor of Africa Reveal, a contributor and a former French Editor of InfoCongo, an EJN geojournalism platform focused on the Congo Basin Region. Based in Kinshasa (DR Congo). She holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and a graduate degree in Organizations Communications from the Institut Facultaire des Sciences de l’Information et de la Communication (IFASIC) in Kinshasa. Actually, she is studying her master degree in Climate & Media at the University of Paris-Saclay - University of Versailles-Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, based in France.

Afy is passionate on making environmental information accessible to the people, so that they can use them to enhance their livelihood and protect the planet Earth. That is why she is pursuing her master degree to learn more about environmental science journalism and always look for new knowledge and skills that can help to improve environmental communication tools and technics.
