Jaime Joyce


Jaime Joyce is a freelance writer and editor based in New York.  Her  writing has appeared in The New Yorker, The New York Times, and Washingtonian, and on BuzzFeed and NPR, among other places. For nearly 20 years, Jaime was an editor at TIME magazine’s kids’ edition, TIME for Kids, serving as the magazine’s executive editor from 2017-2023. She writes on a range of topics, including arts and culture, criminal justice, education, food, and health.

Jaime is also a four-time Pulitzer Center grantee. Her projects have focused on children of incarcerated parents; children and the refugee crisis; and kids and migration. She’s a former elementary school teacher with master’s degrees from Bank Street College of Education and Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
