David Rochkind, a Pulitzer Center grantee, is a photojournalist who for the past three years has been working on projects focused on tuberculosis. His pictures from around the world have appeared in The New York Times, Time, The Guardian, Glamour and much more. Specifically his project: Moldova: Fighting a Deadly Disease, featured the effects of TB on residents of Moldova, which has one of the highest rates of multi-drug resistant (MDR-TB) in the world. Recently, Rochkind launched an interactive educational website on tuberculosis for teachers to use in their curriculum. The website was launched on World Tuberculosis Day, March 24, and features Rochkind's photographs from South Africa, India and Moldova. Rochkind also spoke on Capitol Hill to discuss tuberculosis in the present day, along with other experts in the field of TB research.
