Curricular Resources for The Boston Globe's "At the Edge of a Warming World"

"At the Edge of a Warming World" examines how climate change is impacting the land, people, and wildlife on Cape Cod. The article is divided into five sections that explore the following themes: Erosion of the sand and cliffs on beaches, coastal ecosystems and migration of birds, fishing and access to food for fish, infrastructure, and storms.

The lesson plan below offers warm up exercises, reading guides for each section of the article, discussion questions that analyze the content and structure of the story, and five extension activities. Below, there is also information about ways that the Pulitzer Center's education team can support your students' engagement with the story through Skype visits with journalists and more. Questions?
