Basilia Bernardez left her home and her family to move to a larger city and look for work. Still, she returns to the health center near her home to pick up her prescriptions and see her children. She believes it is vital for people living with HIV to be public with their diagnosis and not live in fear.

Project

The Garifuna have historically been forgotten in Honduras and currently face one of the highest HIV rates in the Western Hemisphere. Traditional music and dance help raise awareness.
