A monument situated between the Malecón and San Lazaro pays tribute to fallen Lieutenant General Antonio Maceo, also known as “the Bronze Titan” due to his stature and racial background. He served in both the Ten-Years’ War and the Cuban War of Independence, and is known for his strength and dedication to his country. Image by Esohe Osabuohien. Cuba 2018.

Life in Havana is often marked by its history, vintage cars, and colorful architecture. However, if you were to look a little closer into its aptly curated image, you would catch glimpses into a life that has found a way to intertwine its past with its present.
