Reports of domestic violence incidents are rising in Lagos, Nigeria. While this may seem troubling to the outside world, many advocates and even the Lagos state government say that it is not. Instead, some say the increase in reports can be seen as a sign that women are becoming more empowered to speak about their experiences.
