Souvid Datta was born in Mumbai and moved to London at age 10. He was raised between the two cities within an artistic and politically active family. He developed an interest in multimedia journalism, social justice and conflict studies during his university studies in international law and war studies. Since then, he has completed projects across Europe, North Africa, Central America, Afghanistan, South Asia and China, working for publications including TIME, The Guardian, The New York Times and Vice. He believes that photography is a powerful tool for self-expression, informing public debate and documenting history.
