Ryan Libre is a photojournalist based in a small village near Chiang Mai, Thailand who tells stories of places and people that fall below the radar screen of mainstream media. Past projects include a profile of the Asoke, a Buddhist sect in Thailand, and China Mobile, a portrait of a nation on the move.
His photographs have shown at the FCCT, FCCJ, and Nikon galleries in Tokyo and Osaka. In 2010 he was awarded the Nikon Inspiration Award for "Portraits of Independence: Inside the Kachin Independence Army." This work was funded in part by the Pulitzer Center.
