Michele McDonald

Michele McDonald is a Boston-based freelance photographer who formerly worked for the Boston Globe. She has been a Nieman fellow, a MacDowell Colony fellow, and has twice been a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize, for features and as part of the Globes investigative team. She specializes in documentary-style photography about ordinary peoples lives, and has a special interest in art produced in isolated areas of the world. She has photographed in Bosnia, Iraq, China, Russia, the Philippines, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Columbia and Ecuador, and all over the United States. This is her third trip to Arctic Canada.
