Elliott Woods is a freelance writer and photographer based out of Cairo, Egypt. A native of Gaithersburg, Maryland, Woods moved to Egypt to pursue an abiding interest in the Arabic language and Middle East politics. In 2008, Woods documented the struggles of Iraq War veterans to readjust to civilian society for the Virginia Quarterly Review. Woods contributes frequently to Daily News Egypt, and his work has also appeared in the San Francisco Chronicle and the VQR blog.
