Beenish Ahmed is a multimedia journalist and writer. She recently completed a Kroc Fellowship at NPR through which she reported for Morning Edition, All Things Considered, Tell Me More, and for member station WBUR in Boston. She has written for GlobalPost, The Huffington Post, and The American Prospect.
As a 2009-2010 Fulbright Scholar to the United Kingdom, Beenish completed an MPhil in Modern South Asian Studies at the University of Cambridge. She graduated from the University of Michigan with degrees in political science as well as creative writing and literature.
The daughter of Pakistani immigrants to the United States, Beenish learned to speak Urdu as a second language. She is also fluent in French.
