Aaron Ross is a freelance journalist covering Africa and the Middle East. After getting his start in journalism at The Nation and Mother Jones magazines, he chronicled sport and politics in Egypt following the 2011 revolution. Aaron then moved to Abidjan, Ivory Coast, where he covered West Africa for The Economist. He has also contributed to The New York Times, GlobalPost, The Christian Science Monitor, The National and Rolling Stone (Middle East) and has been a frequent guest on BBC World Service radio programs. He is currently pursuing a master’s in Modern Middle Eastern studies at Oxford University.
