Join the Pulitzer Center on Wednesday, August 9, at 1:30 pm for a special workshop, "Breaking the Color Barrier in International Reporting," at the NABJ 2017 National Convention and Career Fair in New Orleans, LA.

The New York Times homeland security correspondent Ron Nixon, NPR journalist Noel King, The New Yorker staff writer Alexis Okeowo, Foxtrot Alpha senior reporter Terrell Starr, and Buzzfeed Deputy World News Editor Hayes Brown will discuss their careers and how each of them became foreign correspondents.

Is there a story you have always wanted to report that has an international component? Do you want to help your audience make connections with the lives of people around the world? Is there an international story that only you can tell from your unique perspective?

As part of the Pulitzer Center's commitment to promoting diverse perspectives in journalism, we also are inviting NABJ convention attendees to pitch their international stories to our senior editor Tom Hundley during the NABJ 2017 National Convention and Career Fair at booth #1015.

The Pulitzer Center provides funding for freelance and staff journalists to travel abroad and report on global stories. Every year, we support over 100 reporting projects from all media, including print, photography, broadcast, and documentaries. If you have any questions, or would like to set up a time to pitch your international story to our senior editor, please contact Joan Woods at jwoods[at]pulitzercenter.org.
