Forsyth Technical Community College was established in 1960 as the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Industrial Education Center. The College has since grown to accommodate over 200 programs of study, including programs that promote personal and professional development through non-credit courses and seminars, as well as customized training for business and industry. Many of our students continue their educational careers at a four-year university. Several have gone on to major in journalism after exposure to the field through the journalism class or working with the student newspaper, Technically Speaking. Forsyth Tech also offers a degree in Broadcasting and Production Technology.

At the 2016 Skills USA competition, eight Forsyth Tech students in three teams medaled in their contests, bringing home a gold, a silver, and a bronze. We also recently began a Global Scholars of Distinction Program. In this program, students are prepared to participate in a diverse and global world.

Forsyth Tech is committed to the success of our students and seeks to provide them with an atmosphere of excellence, learning, responsiveness, diversity, and respect. We aim to offer the best possible education to every student who steps through our doors. Forsyth Technical Community College provides students with guided educational pathways to a competitive workforce for the community and global economy.
