John Seii is the director of the Crisis Response Group, an NGO based in Eldoret. Seii's group was largely involved in peace talks immediately following the outbreak of post-election violence on Dec. 27th, 2007. The CRG tried to mend tensions between the two main clans involved in the violence: the Kalenjin and the Kikuyu. Eldoret was one of the most violent regions in the Rift Valley and it also saw the single largest mass killing ever in Kenya due to post-election violence.
