A Walk Around Dupont
Fareed Mostoufi

This week we invite you to watch a group of very young journalists from Washington Yu Ying Charter School as they report the news from nearby Dupont Circle—with an able assist from Pulitzer Center grantee Allison Shelley and our senior education manager Fareed Mostoufi. Educational outreach—from middle schools to universities—is a key part of our mission here at the Pulitzer Center. The Yu Ying 5th graders were participating in a three-day workshop in slow journalism inspired by the Out of Eden Walk, Paul Salopek’s 10-year project exploring how a slow approach to reporting on foot can enlighten understanding of larger world issues.
