Throughout the world, more than 51 million girls below the age of 18 are currently married. This harmful traditional practice spans continents, language, religion and caste.

Hari Sreenivasan from PBS NewsHour interviews Stephanie Sinclair on her work surrounding the issue of child brides. Sinclair spent eight years photographing communities around the world that engage in child marriage, including Afghanistan, Nepal, Yemen and Ethiopia. Her video, which she produced for the Pulitzer Center in association with National Geographic, is also featured on the PBS NewsHour site.
