Pulitzer Center grantee Alice Su is one of four winners of the 2014 Elizabeth Neuffer Memorial Prize from the United Nations Correspondents Association. The prize is for written media (print and online) coverage of the United Nations and its agencies, and is named in honor of Neuffer, The Boston Globe U.N. bureau chief who died while on assignment in Baghdad in 2003.

Other winnners in this category include Hanan Alkiswany of Al-ghad Daily (Jordan), Column Lynch of Foreign Policy, and Francesco Semprini of La Stampa. U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon presents the prizes on Tuesday, December 16, in conjunction with the 2014 UNCA Awards Gala in New York.

Su's Pulitzer Center-supported project titled "Interim Lives: Refugee Survival in Jordan and Lebanon" explores how refugees mobilize to take care of themselves when aid agencies fail. Her past work has focused on refugees, religion, China and the Middle East, and has been published in The Guardian, The Atlantic, Wired and Al Jazeera, among other outlets. She grew up in Shanghai, China and is a graduate of Princeton University.

The 19th Annual UNCA Awards focus on the best print, broadcast (TV & Radio) and online, web-based media coverage of the U.N., U.N. agencies and field operations, with three other prizes awarded in addition to the Elizabeth Neuffer Memorial Prize. The Neuffer Memorial Prize is sponsored by the Alexander Bodini Foundation.
